Although relatively new to the luxury furniture scene in London, Tamart has already earned several awards for its eye-catching designs.
In the next few years, we aim to expand our product line, providing stunning pieces for architects and interior designers looking for unique touches for a room. Many dealers are already recommending us to their clients seeking high end furniture.

We have a permanent showroom with an exhibition on the first floor of The Wax Building: London’s latest design hub for independent British brands. Our debut collection features 10 reimagined mid-century wooden furniture products, each piece embodying Tamar de Shalit and Arthur Goldreich’s compelling and timeless approach to design.
Tamart appreciates that in the world of luxury architecture and interior design, furniture should be more than merely practical; it’s an expression of the space, a reflection of historical trends, and the result of first-class craftsmanship.
You want to use the kind of pieces that have the power to transform interiors, bringing more character and depth to a room. If you’re looking to curate spaces that tick all these boxes, our high-end furniture desings are an excellent choice.
More About Us
Already making waves in the design world, Tamart is a new furniture brand founded by the London-based, award-winning architect Amos Goldreich.
More than just a furniture brand, Tamart is a tribute to the life and work of his late parents, Tamar de Shalit (1932–2009) and Arthur Goldreich (1929–2011), both modernist architects and polymaths whose creative legacy continues to inspire.
As we will explore in this blog, their influence on art, design, and architecture, alongside their moving personal story, makes Tamart a brand deeply rooted in history.
Craftsmanship as a Cornerstone of Interior Design
Whether you’re an architect or interior designer, you know picking furniture is an integral part of shaping a space’s identity. Although mass produced pieces are more affordable and immediately available, they often lack soul and the artistry of bespoke craftsmanship.
Luxury furniture should be produced by those with a strong design ethos and the ability to bridge the gap between art and functionality. Our high quality pieces embody this philosophy.
Designed with an architect’s eye, our furniture combines clean lines, functional elegance, and an unwavering commitment to craftsmanship. Every piece reflects a balance between modernist principles and a contemporary interpretation of materiality. We’re therefore ideal for clients who value history and innovation in equal measure.
The Legacy of Tamar de Shalit and Arthur Goldreich
To understand our approach at Tamart, it is essential to delve into the lives of Tamar de Shalit and Arthur Goldreich: two visionaries who not only shaped architecture but also left a mark on political and cultural history.
Tamar de Shalit was a formidable interior architect whose work championed modernism, functionality, and contextual sensitivity. She believed in the transformative power of design, which meant her buildings were not only visually striking but also inherently practical and very ‘human’.
Her partner, Arthur Goldreich, was a similarly influential figure: an architect, artist and political activist whose life was marked by a relentless pursuit of justice. Originally from South Africa, he was a key figure in the anti-apartheid movement, he was a member of The ANC, lead by Nelson Mandela and other political figures in their fight for freedom.

Together, Tamar and Arthur’s work exemplified a fusion of modernist ideals, artistic vision, and social consciousness. Their approach to architecture extended beyond mere structures; it was about crafting environments that spoke to the needs of people and the times in which they lived. Their love story—one of creative collaboration, political activism and shared passion—ideas that form the emotional core of Tamart.
Why Architects and Designers Should Choose Us
Tamart is not just a furniture brand; it is a design philosophy born out of architectural rigour and personal storytelling.
Each piece is an homage to the design principles embraced by de Shalit and Goldreich: clean geometry, material honesty, and a commitment to functionality. If you’re seeking pieces to create truly distinctive spaces, Tamart is an excellent choice.
Authenticity and Heritage
Every Tamart piece carries the legacy of two remarkable architects whose work spanned continents, disciplines, and different social movements. By choosing Tamart, you can feature a piece of design history in your project.
Exquisite Craftsmanship
In an era of mass production, our bespoke furniture stands out for its meticulous craftsmanship. We always prioritise fine materials and timeless techniques, ensuring that each creation is built to last and will age gracefully.
Architectural Integrity
Designed by an architect for architects, our pieces are conceived with a deep understanding of space, proportion, and the relationships between materials. These are not just beautiful objects; they can enhance the architectural narrative of an interior.
Modernist Pieces with a Contemporary Edge
At Tamart, we look to promote a modernist ethos while embracing contemporary sensibilities. Our pieces are minimalist yet warm; structured yet inviting. They can complement various different interior schemes, from mid-century modern to cutting-edge contemporary.
